Excavator Operator – Sewer, Water & Earthworks
Simcoe County
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Excavator Operator with experience in sewer, watermain and earthworks construction to join our team on municipal and civil infrastructure projects in Simcoe County while maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and site safety.

Key Responsibilities
•Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, and grading areas according to project specifications
•Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
•Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
•Follow site plans, grade stakes, and directions from supervisors
•Work around existing utilities and live services
•Work collaboratively with ground crews, truck drivers, and site managers
•Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
•Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and local laws
Q

ualifications
•Proven experience operating excavators (mini and/or full-size)
•Strong understanding of excavation techniques, soil types, and safe digging practices
•Ability to read site plans and follow grade instructions
•Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
•Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Assets
•Experience with additional heavy equipment (skid steer, backhoe, dozer)
•Knowledge of utility locating and safe digging procedures
•WHMIS, First Aid, or other safety certifications
