Construction Estimator Full-time
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing detailed proposals, and ensuring that all aspects of the construction projects are financially viable. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, cost control measures, and effective negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts.
Duties
•Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other documentation.
•Utilize software tools to create accurate estimates and manage project data.
•Conduct thorough analysis of labor, material, and overhead costs to ensure competitive pricing.
•Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
•Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the best pricing and terms.
•Monitor project budgets and expenditures to maintain cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
•Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to clients.
•Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Qualifications
•Proven experience in construction estimating with a solid understanding of construction management principles.
•Proficient with industry software.
•Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
•Knowledge of cost control methods and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
•Previous experience on construction sites is highly desirable to understand practical implications of estimates.
•Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in preparing accurate estimates.
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
•Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
•Must have a valid drivers licence.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
