Financial Controller Position Available

Central Painting Inc. is a fast-growing national trade contractor looking for a controller to join our team.

Principal Duties:
The controller will coordinate the firm’s month-end close. You will also oversee internal financial reporting along with supervising the work of the company’s accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll sections. The controller will be responsible for producing accurate job-cost accounting reports, participating in audits and preparing reports for the President and the Operations team. You will also maintain controls and budgets that enhance the accuracy of financial reports while ensuring that such reports always comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Other duties include making recommendations for improvements in operations, monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results and controlling capital expenditures.

• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures and all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Prepare and manage; annual budgets, forecasts, and process journal entries as required
• Analyze, reconcile, balance and maintain accounting records
• Work on special projects as requested by Senior Executives
• Supervise team members, also participate in the hiring process for the team
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and Year-end financials for related companies
• Perform cash flow management and optimization
• Independently problem solve issues as they arise with the department
• Conduct and monitor internal control process for related companies
• Monitor project costs and review with operations
• Complete month end reporting analysis for operating companies for senior management

• University business degree
• 5+ years’ experience, preferably from the construction industry with supervisory experience
• Able to analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets
• Flexible and capable to manage and execute multiple tasks/priorities
• Solid business acumen and strategic business sense
• Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
• Sage 300 experience and asset
