We are looking for a stair production labourer to join our team. We are seeking an individual who is experienced with power tools and working with wood. We are looking for a team player that can also work independently. A punctual person is deal for this position.

This person will be working very closely with the not only the stair department but other departments as well to ensure we are satisfying our customer’s needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with a team of qualified and knowledge staff.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Building stairs that are either custom or more standard.
  • Listening to the needs of customers.
  • Producing products that are up to company standards.
  • Meeting daily goals set by the team.

Qualifications:

  • Stairs building experience is a asset.
  • Hand tool experience.
  • Carpentry tool experience is an asset.
  • Forklift experience is an asset.
  • Be able to lift at least 50lbs.

We are seeking a contractor counter salesperson to work at the contractor’s desk that serves customers. At Simcoe Door and Trim we specialize in selling interior doors, trims and stairs, whether that be for contractors or homeowners. We range from selling custom orders to also selling bulk orders. We pride ourselves on amazing customer service skills both on and off the desk. We are always there for our customers and hope they always have the best service as possible.
As a contractor counter salesperson you will be working alongside other departments to ensure that the customer is receiving their full complete order, you will also be taking orders, building up our clientele and assisting in any customer related needs. We are seeking an individual with experience and knowledge of the door and trim industry. Who is capable of talking all about door and trim, while also providing our customers with solid advice.

This position allows for many learning opportunities due to the vast number of products and services that Simcoe Door and Trim can offer their clientele. This allows for everyday to be interesting and very fulfilling. Not only will this person be working on the desk but they will be cross trained with other departments and roles within the store. The abilities to grow and development are substantial.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Our inside sales representatives should have strong computer skills and be able to work alongside other departments to ensure orders are being filled and the correct product is being shipped out to the customers. Store Supervisor – Masonry Centre

Simcoe Masonry Centre in Barrie, Ontario is seeking to fill the position of Store Supervisor for this location. This individual will be in charge of our staff consisting of: yard labourers, customer service team, office staff and block production. As a Store Supervisor, there will be many responsibilities this individual will be looking after: collaborating with other mangers to determine supply needs, supervising a staff of 10 people, coordinating and supervising the receiving and warehouse procedures, control inventory levels and ensure availability of material is always met.
We are seeking an individual who is able to strongly manage and lead a group of approx. 10 individuals while meeting company standards.

As a store supervisor, you will not only be looking after the staff and daily operations but looking at opportunities to grow and build the division. Working closely with other departments, divisions and management to ensure sales numbers are met. This position will be heavily involved with the direct sales of masonry and masonry related products to both the general public and contractors. The skill set of problem solving, managing priorities and multitasking are needed.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise our Masonry Centre location.
• Work alongside other divisions.
• Oversee distribution of supplies in the location.
• Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates.
• Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers.
• Assist in forecasting to plan future orders.
• Manage and strengthen the relationship with our clients by listening to what is needed, providing proactive customer care.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure any discrepancies are resolved.
• Coach, lead and manage the existing employees. Hire and train and new hires.
• Direct sales of masonry and masonry related products.
• Identify areas of growth for the employees and work with upper management to reach these goals.
• Lead and implement new strategies that will help grow the sales.

Qualifications:
• 2-5 years of masonry and masonry related product knowledge.
• Proven experience as a supervisor.
• Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems.

• Capable of working under pressure when handling multi-level selling
• The ability to supervise and lead a team of sales representatives.

Central Painting Inc. is a national contractor specializing in Paints, Coatings and other surface coverings, and is looking for a Cost Estimator to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone with strong sales skills to promote themselves and our services.

Job Duties
• Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, design-build or general tender work.
• Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Recommend/reject proposals and negotiate contracts.
• Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, escalation and contingency.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
• Support other department personnel as required which may include preparing estimates for other disciplines.
• Assist Sales Manager and sales team to determine what types of projects to bid on.
• Participate in presentations to management and clients.  May be responsible for “closing the sale”.
• Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required.
• Compile foreman’s packages for each job site landed with drawings, specification
• Review with Operations and QC the Schedule, Scope of Work and specifications of the project awarded.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Requirements
• University or College diploma in construction/engineering degree, or construction related field.
• 5 + years of experience in cost estimation.
• Ability to use cost-estimating software to prepare cost quotes and bids.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current.
• Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision.
• Customer focused – respond promptly to customer needs.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers.

Work Conditions
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment may be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.).
